SDMC councillors today passed a resolution in the House "condemning" the alleged "indecent behaviour meted out to the senior officers of the corporation" in the meeting of a committee of Legislative Assembly of Delhi.

The Chairman of the standing committee of BJP ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Shalinder Singh Monti put the resolution before the councillors attending the House meeting.

"The officers are being forced to wait for longer duration and are being asked questions repeatedly on the same issue by presenting different formats of questionnaires," he alleged in his resolution.

Leader of Opposition, Congress councillor Farhad Suri stated that the confrontation should not be encouraged and emphasised that the officers should be given due respect.

Mayor Shyam Sharma expressed his concern over the issue.

The resolution was passed with his observation that the "entire House" favoured it.
