Seeking to address civic woes in south Delhi's Dwarka, the area's municipal body has planned to set up multi-level automated stack parking facilities and rejuvenate water bodies.

South Delhi Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat today inspected various sectors and villages under ward no. 38 (Dwarka-B) to identify developmental projects to be undertaken on a priority basis. She had won the civic polls this year from this ward by a record margin.

The mayor acknowledged that the number of vehicles is increasing in Dwarka sub-city and therefore the South Delhi Municipal Corporation is "keen to set up multi-level automated stack parking in order to provide more space" in market areas in sectors 6 and 11.

"There will be minimum human interference in the functioning of these parking lots," Sehrawat said in a statement.

In stack facilities, cars are parked in a stacked-up fashion on a grill-made structure, which has two or three platforms. Cars from the bottom are moved mechanically to the top level first and then the lower levels are filled.

During her visit to village areas, she also asked the Engineering Department to rejuvenate water bodies at Pochanpur and Ambrahi, in consultation with the DDA.

She also announced construction of an office complex with an indoor games facilities.

The mayor also directed offcials to work out a detail plan on beautification of various road sides and roundabouts.

Further she asked officers to redevelop 'Panchyat Ghar' at Ambrahi village after obtaining a no-objection certificate from the DDA.

She made it clear that the SDMC will develop villages at par with the colonies of urban areas, the SDMC said in the statement.
