SDMC reported max dengue, chikungunya cases in Delhi: Report

Of the 3,829 cases of dengue and 502 cases of chikungunya reported in the national capital so far, areas under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation accounted for the maximum number of cases, a report by the civic bodies said here today.

Four dengue-related deaths have been reported till now in the national capital while no casualties due to chikungunya have been reported so far, it stated.

A total of 552 malaria cases have been reported in Delhi till now, but there were no death. In 2012, as many as 822 cases of malaria were reported.

In 2015, Delhi had reported the highest 15,867 dengue cases and 60 deaths due to it. Last year, the city had witnessed 7,117 cases of chikungunya, the highest in the last five years.
 

According to the report, areas under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation reported the highest number of dengue and chikungunya cases this year.
