The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has commissioned science clubs in 100 schools each aiming to develop scientific temper among students.
The clubs have been set up with the support of the Vigyan Prasar Network (VIPNET) under the Centre's Department of Science and Technology.
"The corporation has set up fully functional 100 science clubs in its 100 schools with an aim to develop scientific instinct in the students and provide them a platform to excel by creating useful scientific innovative instruments and machines competent enough to ensure a substantial positive change in the quality of life," SDMC said in a statement today.

In order to make the clubs centres of scientific constructive activities, the SDMC has also organised skilling orientation programmes and workshops for imparting a comprehensive training to its teachers, it said.
The selection of the teachers and the schools were made, keeping in view the interest and keenness in involving themselves in the scientific endeavor.
