Police have arrested a Rural Works Department Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and five others for allegedly carrying out illegal construction work in the Bihar State Housing Board land here, a senior police officer said today.
Acting on a tip-off that illegal construction work was going on at the land belonging to housing board in Chandra Vihar colony, a team nabbed the SDO and five others during the inspection of the site yesterday where the team found that construction work was going on in, Patna, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said in a release today.
The person, who claimed the owner of the under construction house, has been identified as Suman Kumar, a SDO posted with Rural Works Department at Dalsinghsarai in Samastipur district, the SSP said adding that Kumar was the resident of Khagaria district.

The other five persons arrested were - Amarjeet Paswan, Nand Kishore Das, Prakash Kumar, Dipak Baitha and Maan Bahadur, the SSP said.
An FIR has been lodged on the written complaint of housing board SDO Ziaul Hasan in this regard for allegedly carrying out illegal construction work on the acquired land of housing board, he said.
