SEA delegation to visit Argentina to study Soybean Complex

Solvent Extractors Association (SEA) today said a delegation of the industry body is going on a nine day tour to Argentina from January 8, to study Argentine Soybean Complex.

"On the invitation of the Argentina government a seven members delegation of SEA, led by the president of the association Atul Chaturvedi, will visit the Latin American country from January 9-16," SEA Executive Director B V Mehta said in a release here.

"The main objective of the tour is to study the Argentine Soybean Complex and to understand processing, production, exports and logistic of supply of soybean," he said.

Argentina annually exports close to 3 million tonnes of soybean oil to India, which is about 80 per cent of the total soybean oil imported.
 

The delegation will meet the officials of the Argentina government, agro-industry ministry, CIARA-Argentine Oil Industry Chamber, COFCO and Argentina's Association of Suppliers of Soybean Oil.

They will also visit soybean processing plants, loading ports and commodities exchanges in Argentina.
