Jammu and Kashmir government today suspended sealing of illegal structures in Katra town in Reasi in view of Vice-President Hamid Ansari's visit to the Shri Mata Vaishnodevi University tomorrow.
The sealing drive will continue, but has been suspended for today in view of the visit of Vice-President of India to the area, Reasi District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal told PTI.
Yesterday authorities had sealed nine illegal structures in Katra town, the base camp of Mata Vaishnodevi cave shrine, under directions of the High Court, he said.

Led by Katra Development Authority (KDA) CEO, Rajinder Singh, teams assisted by large number of policemen sealed the buildings in the town amid resistance from the business community.
In its directions dated December 31, 2013, a Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi had directed the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, to seal all the illegally constructed buildings in Katra.
The state government has identified 69 buildings as illegal under the directions of the High Court.
