Police are on the look out for a man, who reportedly attempted to burn his wife to death in his house in Pollachi in the district.
Kumar, a resident of Kullakkapalayam near Pollachi used to pick up quarrel frequently with wife. Yesterday night also both reportedly quarrelled on a certain issue, police said today.
Later Kumar poured kerosone on his wife, who was in deep sleep around 11 PM yesterday and after setting afire, took to heels, they said.
Hearing the screams, neighbours and two children rushed to the room and after putting off the fire, brought her and admitted to the Government Hospital here.
With 60 per cent burns, she is being treated in the hospital, even as police are searching for Kumar, they said.
