A local informed the forces about the presence of four suspicious persons in fields of Mahesh Chack village following which the search operation was launched this morning, SSP Kathua Suleman Choudhary told PTI.

The operation was jointly carried out by the police, Army and paramilitary forces in the village and adjoining areas but nothing was found during the day-long drive.

The joint parties searched the area falling under five kms radius near the border in the jurisdiction of Rajbagh police station and visited the house of the informant for further leads, the officials said.
