Sebi inaugurates new premises of its local office at Bengaluru

Capital market regulator Sebi today inaugrated the new premises of its local office in Bengaluru that looks interests of investors in the state of Karnataka.

"Prashant Saran, whole time ember, Securities and Exchange Board of India, inaugurated the new premises of the local office of Sebi at Bengaluru today, in the presence of Prof AK Sood, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore," the market regulator said in a statement.

The local office is located at second floor, Jeevan Mangal Building, No. 4, Residency Road, Bengaluru.

Sebi has various local offices across the country to promote a balanced pan India securities market and to bring in physical proximity with the investors and intermediaries.
 

For this purpose, the market regulator has also already opened offices at Hyderabad, Kochi, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Ranchi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Dehradun, Jaipur, Indore, Panaji and Raipur.

"The jurisdiction of the local office at Bengaluru whose new premises was inaugurated today extends to the State of Karnataka," Sebi said.

The regulator is mandated by the Parliament to protect interests of the investors in securities, regulate the securities market and develop the capital market.
