In a bid to reach out to investors and intermediaries in the state, capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) today opened the new premises of its local office here.
The office was inaugurated by Chief Minister Raman Singh.
"For promoting a balanced pan-India securities market and in order to bring physical proximity of Sebi offices to the investors and intermediaries, Sebi has decided to open local offices in various parts of the country," Sebi said in a statement.

Sebi Chairman U K Sinha and Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand were also present on the occasion.
The Raipur local office is under the administrative control and jurisdiction of Sebi's regional office at Ahmedabad.
Sebi said the functions of the local office include facilitating redressal of investor grievances against listed companies and securities market intermediaries, educating investors and promoting financial literacy within its jurisdiction.
