Second Delhi Open from February 16

The second edition of the Delhi Open, a combined tennis event for men and women, will be held here from February 16, DLTA announced today.

The USD 125,000 ATP Challenger tournament is likely to feature players such as Australia's James Duckworth (word number 120) and Japan's Yuichi Sugita (word number 136) apart from a host of Indian players, led by country's top player and defending champion Somdev Devvarman.

Yuki Bhambri, Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni, who are all competing in the Hong Kong Challenger this week, will also be seen in action.

Vishnu Vardhan, by the virtue of his title win at the 2014 Fenesta National hard court championship, will get a wild card entry into the 32-player main draw while runner-up Sidharth Rawat will get a wild card for the qualifying event.
 

Under-18 national title winner Vidit Vaghela will compete in the men's qualifying as a wild card.

Prerena Bhambri will get a wild card entry into the USD 25,000 ITF women's event, courtesy her national title win in October 2014.

Karman Kaur Thandi, who ended runner-up in women's national championship and was a winner of the U-18 event, will compete in the women's qualifier as a wild card.

"More wild cards will be announced soon," Tournament Director, Manpreet Kandhari said in a release.
