A section of of drivers and conductors of cluster bus service, who have been demanding better work conditions, have decided to support Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi assembly polls.
"Upset over the step-motherly treatment meted out to the contractual drivers and conductors, we have decided to support Kejriwal and want him to form the government," said Pramod Tomar, General Secretary of Delhi Cluster Bus Seva and Allied Karmchari Union.
The Union was formed with the support of more than 70 per cent of the contractual drivers and conductors of the cluster bus service, operated by Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System Ltd (DIMTS), he claimed.

Alleging rampant flouting of employment norms by the DIMTS officials, Tomar said they were not given the minimum wage as per the rule.
"The payment of wages is irregular, the drivers and conductors were not given the pay slips. They were denied the benefits of Karmchari Rajya Beema and Employment's Provident Fund," Tomar said, adding therefore the union has been formed to keep a watch over the alleged unfair practises prevalent in the company.
