Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sultan Ahmed today claimed that the Muslims in the country were facing a "testing time under the BJP-RSS rule" and said all the secular parties such as the SP, JD(U) and AAP would have to join hands with the TMC to fight the "communal BJP".
The BJP government, he said, would never be successful in "imposing" Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the country.
Calling for an "unified fight" by the secular parties to defeat the "communal designs of the BJP-RSS", Ahmed said, "Muslims will not be able to fight the rising communal forces in the country alone. We all know that Mamata Banerjee is the most secular chief minister in the country. Mulayam Singh Yadav, Arvind Kejriwal and Nitish Kumar should come together with her to fight the BJP government at the Centre."

"It is a testing time for the Muslims and they should be careful not to walk into the trap.
"The BJP is raising these communal issues knowing fully well that the Muslim law will not be altered. It is doing this to divert the attention of the people from the other issues and the unfulfilled promises of bringing back black money into the country. Also, its inability to trace missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmad and the fake encounter of eight undertrials in Bhopal," Imran alleged.
The TMC MPs were speaking at a programme of Imams here.
