General Officer Commanding of Srinagar-based 15 corps and the Security Advisor Lt Gen Om Prakash co-chaired the meeting with Director General of State Police Ashok Prasad at Badami Bagh Cantonment here, a defence spokesman said.
Senior Officers of Army, Police, CRPF, BSF, Intelligence Agencies and Civil Administration attended the meeting - first after Lt Gen Praksh took over as Corps Commander and Prasad as DGP.
"The meeting deliberated on the initiatives being taken by the Security Forces to maintain the peace and harmony in the Valley and carried out a holistic introspection of the way ahead," the spokesman said.
He said the meeting deliberated on numerous security issues and took an overall view of the prevailing external and internal environment.
Addressing the meeting, Lt Gen Prakash complimented the officials for the high level of synergy that exists between all stake holders in addressing the security concerns of the Valley and implored that the bon-homie at operational level be further enhanced at functional level.
The DGP, in his address, echoed similar sentiments and further elaborated on key security issues, the spokesman said.
Kashmir has witnessed a spurt in grenade attacks and target killings over the past couple of months, indicating attempts by militants to revive militancy in the valley.
