Security beefed up in view of Rahul's rally

Elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of tomorrow's rally here by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

CCTV cameras have been installed at the Parade Ground, the venue of the rally, Additional DGP R S Meena said.

Adequate police and PAC personnel will be deployed to maintain strict vigil, he said adding traffic will be suitably diverted to ensure minimum inconvenience to people.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat visited the Parade Ground today to take stock of security arrangements.

Gandhi will hold a meeting with Rawat to assess relief and rehabilitation work in the calamity-hit areas of the state before addressing the rally in the afternoon, state Congress chief Yashpal Arya said.
