Security forces bust two militant hideouts in J-K

Security forces have busted two militant hideouts and recovered arms and ammunition in the border district of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Based on specific inputs, a joint operation was carried out by Rashtriya Rifles (RR) battalion and the police in Kakora forest in Rajouri district last evening," Defence spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told PTI.

After prolonged search of the area, an old hideout was discovered, leading to recovery of cache consisting of one AK-47 rifle, 212 AK rounds, eight AK magazines, 223 pika rounds, one GPS, three binoculars, four radio sets, one Thuraya set and other war-like stores, he said.
 

This was a major recovery made by security forces in the area, he added.

Another militant hideout at LKG in the district was today busted by the security forces and some arms and ammunition were recovered from there.

"The recovery includes 320 rounds of AK 47/Pika ammunition, one AK magazine, one GPS, three Chinese grenade, 11 pencil cells, 10 meters fuze wire and 20 meters of brass wire," defence spokesman said.
