An encounter took place between security forces and ultras belonging to Peoples Liberation Front of India (PLFI) at Tarobora village in West Singhbhum district but there was no report of any casualty, police said today.
The security forces personnel comprising - CRPF and district armed police - were on their routine long-range patrolling in extremist-hit area of the district when the ultras opened fire on them yesterday, the police said.
Around 30 to 35 rounds were fired by the security forces in retaliation, forcing the PLFI ultras to make a hasty retreat, Superintendent of Police, Anish Gupta said.
Some mobile phones and sim cards were recovered from the spot, the police said.
