A 57-year-old security guard was today arrested for allegedly molesting a minor girl, police said.
"The accused Harishchandra Pal worked at a housing complex in Morivali of Ambernath," Thane Police spokesperson Sukhada Narkar said.
Pal yesterday took the five-year-old girl, while she was playing in an open area of the society, to the parking space and molested her, Narkar said.
Following a complaint, a case under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 was registered at the Badlapur (West) Police station, Narkar said, adding a probe was on.
