Security personnel today unearthed and defused two landmines believed to be planted by naxals on Murumgaon bazaar road in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, police said.
The explosives, weighing 10 to 15 kgs, were planted to target the police personnel who use the road, Gadchiroli Police said in a release.
Acting on a tip-off, local police and personnel of CRPF and SRPF conducted a joint operation to locate the landmines this morning and unearthed them, it said, adding that the explosives were defused successfully.
Gadchiroli district is bounded to Chhattisgarh in east.
