The Uttar Pradesh police and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have stepped up the vigil along the Indo-Nepal border in the wake of a terrorist attack on Amarnath pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir last night.
As a precautionary measure, the security agencies have been asked to ascertain the identity of the people before letting them cross over through the border, said Ranjeet Singh, Deputy Inspector Genaral, SSB.
Orders have also been issued to other security agencies such as the Indo-Nepal Border Police to remain alert.
