Security tightened in court in Muzaffarnagar

In the wake of rising incidents of attack on undertrials, security has been tightened in court compound here while two police officials have been suspended for alleged negligence of duty.

The security has been tightened in the court compound here and entry is being allowed after thorough checking, SSP B K Singh said.

Inspector Digamber Singh and SI Vijay Pal have been suspended for negligence of duty, Singh said.

On February 16, gangster Vicky Tyagi was fatally shot dead by an armed juvenile, who had entered a courtroom here masquerading as a lawyer.

On April 17, another gangster was shot dead allegedly by four miscreants at Muzaffarnagar railway station when he was being escorted by the police after a court hearing here.
