Security has been tightened around Jagannath temple at Puri and other tourist spots in Odisha in the wake of the serial blasts in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, officials said here today.
Patrolling has been intensified in the tourist town of Puri and arrangements made to check guests in hotels, they said.
Meanwhile, ruling BJD MLA Amar Prasad Satpathy today raised the security issue in the Assembly stating that there was a possibility of terrorists entering the state through Odisha-AP border.
He also sought a statement from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is also in-charge of the home department, on the security measures taken by the government.
