Naam Tamilar Katchi (NMK) today accused the Centre of not taking any steps to prevent the recurring attacks by Sri Lankan Navy on Tamil Nadu fishermen.
The Centre acted swiftly in the matter of Kerala fishermen being killed by Italian marines. However, there was no such initiative with regard to the fishermen from Tamil Nadu, NMK Organiser Seeman told reporters here.
He was reacting to the killing of a 22-year old fishermen allegedly in firing by Sri Lankan Navy.

Both the Congress and BJP have the same yardstick as far as Tamil Nadu was concerned, particularly, the fishermen issue, he charged.
He alleged both the Centre and successive governments in the state had not shown any interest in solving the problem faced by the fishermen.
