Select base metals decline on poor industrial demand

Select base metals, including nickel, lead, zinc and copper declined at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists selling amid lower demand from industrial users.

Nickel slid by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 715 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 720 and zinc moved down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 156 as compared to Rs 159 previously.

Lead edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 123 as against to Rs 125 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 375, Rs 370 and Rs 403 respectively.
 

However, tin rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,145 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 1,140.

Copper utensils and copper sheet cuttings inched up by a Re per kg to Rs 347 and Rs 364 respectively.
