Select base metals down in lacklustre trade

Select base metals prices edged down in an otherwise lacklustre non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amidst lower demand from industries users.

The industrial metals maintained a stable trend at the LME, but was set for its second weekly loss in three as worries over US fiscal policy clouded the outlook for investors.

Nickel and tin shed by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 1,015 and Rs 1,555 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,017 and Rs 1,557.

Copper scrap heavy, copper armature, copper sheet cutting, brass utensil scrap and zinc all softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 500, Rs 488, Rs 482, Rs 345 and Rs 159, respectively.
