Select base metals ease on lacklustre trade

Copper armature,aluminium ingots and lead prices eased in an otherwise lacklustre trade at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists selling amid weak demand from alloy industries.

Globally, sentiment turned better on firm global trend after positive Chinese trade data that showed exports unexpectedly rose in December, suggesting a weaker currency may be helping to bolster the economy in the world's biggest consumer, influenced copper futures here.

Aluminium ingots moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 128 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 130.

Copper armature and lead softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 357 and Rs 123, respectively.
