Select base metals edge up on good demand

Select copper, brass and zinc edged-up at the non-ferrous metal market today on buying by stockists amid good demand from industrial users.

Nickel, tin and lead fell on subdued demand from alloy industries.

Copper scrap heavy and copper armature moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 396 and Rs 390 from last Saturday's closing levels of Rs 394 and Rs 388, respectively.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar, brass sheet cutting and zinc all inched up by a Re per kg each to Rs 400, Rs 365, Rs 428, Rs 319 and 216, respectively.
 

However, nickel dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 690 from previous closing level of Rs 700 and tin slid by Rs 5 per kg at Rs 1,460 as compared to Rs 1,465 last weekend.

Lead softened by a Re per kg to Rs 156.
