Select base metals extend fall on weak global sentiment

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar and aluminium ingots moved up marginally on renewed buying interest from consumer industries.

The industrial metals were trading lower at the LME ahead of ECB meeting amid concerns over disappointing US macroeconomic data.

Nickel declined by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,100 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,105.

Copper armiture and brass sheets cutting both slipped by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 471 and Rs 331 respectively, as compared to Rs 473 and Rs 333 previously.

Copper sheets cutting, brass utensils scrap, zinc and lead all softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 465, Rs 321, Rs 134 and Rs 122, respectively.

 

However, copper cable scrap and copper wire bar firmed up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 488 and Rs 516.

Copper scrap heavy and aluminium ingots inched up by a rupee per kg each to Rs 481 and Rs 136. PTI EDM RAH YB
