Prices of select base metals fell further by up to Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today in tandem with a weakening global trend.
Traders said besides a weakening trend overseas as dollar strengthened, eroding demand for base metals and other commodities amid tepid demand at the domestic spot markets, kept select base metal prices lower.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three month retreated 1.3 per cent on the London Metal Exchange.

Copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) fell by Rs 3 and Rs 5 to Rs 355 and Rs 810-815 per kg respectively.
Lead ingot and lead imported also traded lower by Rs 2 each to Rs 87 and Rs 93 per kg respectively.
