Select base metals fall on sluggish demand

Select base metals including copper, brass sheet cuttings, zinc, tin and nickel fell at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' selling amid sluggish demand from industrial users.

While, brass utensils scrap gained further owing to a good demand from consuming industries.

Nickel prices slipped by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 770 from Monday's close at Rs 790 and tin eased by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,335 as against Rs 1,340 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper billets moved down by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 441, Rs 431 and Rs 469 as compared with Rs 445, Rs 435 and Rs 473, respectively.
 

Copper sheet cuttings, brass sheet cuttings and zinc edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 410, Rs 328 and Rs 238 from Rs 412, Rs 330 and Rs 240 yesterday.

However, brass utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 315 as against Rs 313 yesterday.
