Select base metals fall on subdued demand

Select copper, brass, aluminium and lead eased at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists selling amidst subdued demand from industrial users.

On the global front, the industrial metal climbed in early trade as some traders covered short positions ahead of a seasonally stronger quarter for demand, with focus shifting to China markets which are reopening after a week-long break.

Aluminium utensils scrap declined by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 134 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 138.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar and brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 482, Rs 474, Rs 510 and Rs 341 from Rs 484, Rs 476, Rs 512 and Rs 343, respectively.
 

Copper armature and lead softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 459 and Rs 137.

However, brass utensils scrap and zinc inched-up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 329 and Rs 188.
