Select base metals rise on good demand

Led by Nickel, select copper, brass, aluminium rose at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist buying amidst good demand from industrial users.

The industrial metals was trading steady at LME, after last week logging its biggest weekly fall in two months, as a revival in US jobs growth burnished hopes for recovery in the world's top economy and brightened the outlook for demand.

Nickel climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,025 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,020.

Copper sheet cutting gained by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 479 from Rs 475.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar moved-up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 504, Rs 457 and Rs 532 from Rs 502, Rs 455 and Rs 530, respectively.
 

Copper armature inched-up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 483.

However, aluminium utensils scrap softened by a Re 1 per kg to Rs 123.
