Select base metals rise on good industrial demand

Select copper, brass and aluminium prices rose at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amidst good demand from industrial users.

On the global front, industrial metal copper ruled stable in early trade at the LME, after lodging its biggest one-day advance in two months on prospects of fresh easing in Europe and further signs of economic revival in the United States.

Brass sheet cutting climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 345 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 340.

Copper utensils scrap moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 428 from Rs 425.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar, copper sheet cutting, aluminium ingots and aluminium utensils scrap all inched-up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 479, Rs 507, Rs 445, Rs 167 and Rs 135, respectively.
 

However, zinc softened by Re 1 per kg to Rs 182.
