Select base metals slide on lower demand

Select base metals including copper, zinc, lead and nickel slid at the non-ferrous metals market here Wednesday on stockists' selling amid lower demand from industrial users.

While, tin prices recovered due to fresh demand from alloy industries.

Nickel prices weakened by Rs 10 to Rs 940 per kg from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 950 and copper armature moved down by Rs 3 to Rs 442 per kg as compared to Rs 445.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper billets and zinc edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 450, Rs 445, Rs 478 and Rs 212 as against Rs 452, Rs 447, Rs 480 and Rs 214 yesterday, respectively.

 

Copper sheet cuttings and lead softened by a rupee per kg to Rs 440 and Rs 160.

However, tin rose by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,405 from Rs 1,395 yesterday.
