Prices of tin and nickel fell at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to heavy selling by stockists as well as subdued demand from alloy industries.
Elsewhere, select copper, brass, zinc and aluminium ingots declined due to lower offtake from industrial users.
Aluminium utensils scrap and copper scrap heavy moved up following modest demand from consuming industries.
Globally, base metals were perched above one-month lows but looked vulnerable to fresh losses as cracks appeared in global economic growth, while expectations that supply will rise towards the year-end also kept a lid on prices.
Tin dropped by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,540 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,560.
Nickel dipped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,255 from Rs 1,260.
Copper sheet cutting and brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 462 and Rs 352 from Rs 465 and Rs 355, respectively.
Copper utensils scrap, aluminium ingots and zinc prices went down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 440, Rs 164 and Rs 191 as against Rs 442, Rs 166 and Rs 193 yesterday.
Copper armiture and brass utensil scrap softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 468 and Rs 338.
However, aluminium utensils scrap climbed by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 136 from Rs 133.
Copper scrap heavy moved up by a Re per kg to Rs 481.
