Select base metals soften on muted demand, global cues

Select base metal prices fell by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries amid weak trend overseas.

Traders said, apart from a weak trend in base metals in the global market, tepid demand demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot market, mainly led to the decline in select base metal prices.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) were trading down by Rs 2 each to Rs 358 and Rs 800-805 per kg, respectively.

Zinc ingot also eased by a similar margin to Rs 100-106 per kg.
 

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 100-106, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 800-805, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 358, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 91, lead imported Rs 97, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
