Select base metals up on industrial demand; global cues

Price of select base metals went up by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today on pick up in demand from consuming industries amid a firm global trend.

Traders said sentiments turned better after copper rebounded from the lowest level in a week in global markets, leading most industrial metals higher as investors await talks between Greece and its creditors.

Meanwhile, Copper for delivery in three months rose by 0.4 per cent to USD 5,617.50 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap, lead ingots and lead imported were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 398, Rs 104 and Rs 105 per kg respectively. Zinc ingot also enquired higher by Rs 2 to Rs 114-120 per kg.

Zinc ingot 114-120, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,056-1,061, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 398, Chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 104, Lead imported 105, Aluminium ingots 162, Aluminium sheet cutting 163, Aluminium wire scrap 165 and Aluminium utensils scrap 162.
