Select base metals weaken on subdued demand

Select base metals including copper, zinc, lead and nickel weakened at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists selling amid subdued demand from industrial users.

Zinc prices declined by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 196 from Wednesday's close at Rs 201 and nickel slipped by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 785 as against Rs 788 yesterday.

Copper sheet cuttings edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 345 as compared Rs 347 previously.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armature, copper wire bar and lead softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 363, Rs 358, Rs 348, Rs 391 and Rs 137, respectively.
