Select commodity prices fall on opening day

Prices of thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal and gram dal decreased and wheat price increased while other commodities ruled steady on the opening day in wholesale foodgrain market here today.

Moong dal price fell sharply by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 10,500 from Rs 10,900.

Thoor dal price was down by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 10,700 from its closing rate of Rs 10,900.

Urad dal was less by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 10,500 from its previous rate of Rs 10,800.

Gram dal decreased by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 5,800 from Rs 6,000.
 

Only wheat was up on opening day by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 2,850 from Rs 2,800.

Sugar (Rs 2,600), Maida (90 kg) (Rs 2,400 and Sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,000) prices ruled steady on the opening day.

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri- commodities (in Rs per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal 10,700, Urad Dal 10,500, Moong Dal 10,500, Gram Dal 5,800, Sugar 2,600, Wheat 2,850, Maida (90 kg) 2,400 and Sooji (90 kg) 3,000.
