Select copper and zinc recover on renewed industrial demand

Select copper and zinc prices recovered at the non-ferrous metal market here today on renewed demand from industrial users on the back of bullish cues from London Metal Exchange (LME).

While, copper armiture, copper utensils scrap and brass prices slipped due to lower offtake from consuming industries.

In overseas markets, London copper climbed from a four-week low in early trade as investors covered short positions, but gains were capped by a stronger dollar after improving US economic data backed the case for an interest rate rise soon.

Copper sheet cutting and zinc rose by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 432 and Rs 187 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 430 and Rs 185.
 

Copper cables scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar edged-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 456, Rs 451 and 476, respectively.

However, copper utensils scrap fell by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 410 from Rs 412.

Copper armiture, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 436, Rs 317 and Rs 326.
