Select copper edge-up in dull trade

Select copper prices edged-up in an otherwise listless non-ferrous metal market here today on stray stockist buying amidst better offtake from consumers industries.

The industrial metals were trading little changed at the LME though set to log its first weekly gain in four, after China's trade data and a US jobs report later expected to underline reviving growth in the world's top two economies.

Copper cable scrap and Copper wire bar inched-up by a rupee per kg to Rs 493 and Rs 521 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 492 and Rs 520.

However, zinc softened by a rupee per kg to Rs 147.
