Select copra decline in lacklustre trade

Copra rajapur Mumbai and copra

edible Mumbai declined in an otherwise lacklustre spices market Wednesday on lower demand from stockists and retailers.

Meanwhile, other spices held stable in the absence of any large-scale buying activities.

Copra rajapur Mumbai fell by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 20,700 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 21,000 and copra edible Mumbai went down by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 14,200 as against Rs 14,400, yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 380/425 (380/425), ginger unbleached (per kg) 210 (210), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 10,200 (10,200), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 10,100 (10,100), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 20,700 (21,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 14,200 (14,400).
