Select copra decline in weak trade

Copra office Alappuzha and copra office Kozhikode declined further in an otherwise listless trade at the Spices market following reduced demand from stockists and retailers amid weak export offtake.

While, Mumbai spices market remained closed today on account of protests in Maharashtra over the reservation demand.

Copra office Kozhikode fell by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 11,200 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 11,600.

Copra office Alapuzha moved down by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 11,500 from Rs 11,800.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) CLOSED (350/400), ginger unbleached (per kg) CLOSED (160), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 11,500 (11,800), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 11,200 (11,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) CLOSED (20,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) CLOSED (14,500).
