Select copra declines on reduced demand

Copra Alappuzha and copra Kozhikode prices declined further at the spices market here today due to reduced demand from stockists amid weak export offtake.

While, rest all other spices ruled stable in the absence of any major buying activity.

Copra office Kozhikode fell by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 9,800 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 10,000.

Copra office Alappuzha eased by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 10,000 as against Rs 10,100 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 490/580 (490/580), ginger unbleached (per kg) 120 (120), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 10,000 (10,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,800 (10,100), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 11,300 (11,300), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 10,600 (10,600).
