Select copra drops on reduced demand, black pepper slips

Copra Rajapur Mumbai, copra edible and copra office Alapuzha prices dropped at the spices market here today heavy selling amid ample arrivals from producing belts.

Elsewhere, black pepper slipped due to lower offtake on the back of higher arrivals amid sluggish export demand.

While, rest all other spices held steady in the absence of any large scale buying activity.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai slid by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 16,500 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 16,800.

Copra edible Mumbai and copra office Alapuzha fell by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 11,800 and Rs 9,800 as against Rs 11,900 and Rs 9,900, respectively.
 

Black pepper went down by Rs 6/6 per kg to Rs 625/725 as compared to Rs 631/731 previously.

Black pepper (per kg) 625/725 (631/731), ginger bleached (per kg) 230 (230), ginger unbleached (per kg) 250 (250), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 9,800 (9,900), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,700 (9,700), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,500 (16,800), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 11,800 (11,900).
