Select copra drops on sluggish demand, good supply

However, black pepper, ginger bleached and unbleached maintained a steady trend in the absence of market-moving factors, while there was no trading in copra Alapuzha and Kozhikode.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai fell by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,500 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 6,600 and copra edible Mumbai slipped by Rs 75 per quintal to Rs 4,800 as compared to Rs 4,875 previously.

The following are today's closing rates in rupees with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 400/430 (400/430), ginger bleached (per kg) 80 (80), ginger unbleached (per kg) 95 (95), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) Closed (3,975), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) Closed (3,950), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 6,500 (6,600) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 4,800 (4,875).
