Select copra drops on subdued demand, fresh arrivals

Prices of copra Rajapur and copra Alapuzha dropped in an otherwise steady spices market here today due to low demand from corporates and upcountry buyers in the face of adequate stocks availability.

Black pepper, ginger, copra Kozhikode and copra edible Mumbai closed at their overnight levels in the absence of necessary buying support.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai slumped by Rs 500 per quintal to finish at Rs 17,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 17,500 and copra office Alapuzha moved down by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 10,400 as compared to Rs 10,500 previously.

The local spices market was closed yesterday.

Black pepper (per kg) 560/660 (560/660),ginger bleached (per kg) 215 (215), ginger unbleached (per kg) 235 (235), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 10,400 (10,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 10,300 (10,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 17,000 (17,500), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 12,500 (12,500).
