Select copra extends fall on weak demand

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode prices continued its downtrend at the spices market here today due to weak demand from stockists and retailers amidst ample supplies.

Meanwhile, rest of the spices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode declined by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 11,300 and Rs 11,200 from Monday's closing level of Rs 11,500 and Rs 11,400, respectively.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 725/775 (725/775), ginger bleached (per kg) 270 (270), ginger unbleached (per kg) 290 (290), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 11,300 (11,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 11,200 (11,400), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 21,000 (21,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,800 (13,900).
