Select copra plummets on heavy selling by stockists

Copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode prices plummeted at the spices market here today following heavy selling by stockists and traders in the wake of improved arrivals from producing regions.

On the other hand, copra edible rebounded smartly owing to renewed demand from millers and upcountry buyers.

Elsewhere, black pepper, ginger and copra Rajapur Mumbai all closed at their overnight level in the absence of necessary buying support.

Copra office Alapuzha slumped by Rs 600 per quintal to Rs 11,000 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 11,600 and copra office Kozhikode dropped by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 10,900 as compared to Rs 11,200 previously.
 

However, copra edible Mumbai spurted by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 13,800 against Rs 13,500 yesterday.

Black pepper (per kg) 725/775 (725/775), ginger bleached (per kg) 270 (270), ginger unbleached (per kg) 290 (290), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 11,000 (11,600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 10,900 (11,100), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 22,000 (22,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,800 (13,500).
